Lamb Who ever said 'see Venice & die'
hadn't seen Mull!! An amazing holiday - 1 day of rain. Saw Otter, Eagles,
DeerSeals with Arthur. Thank you!
18th June Peter &
Barbara Midgily Mull never lets you down,
it's fantastic. As is Discover Mull tour with Arthur - its a must for
all. Thanks Pam for a lovely place to stay. It's been great.
4th -18th June David,
Tony & Wendy The wildlife was at it's
very best with 94 species of birds seen
including a 'ROLLER'. We
must yet again offer a special thanks to our hosts Pam & Arthur, their
local knowledge and friendly hospitality makes our stay all the more
enjoyable. The island is here to be enjoyed and we did just that, see you
again next year.
14th May 2011 Kim, Andy
& Thomas (aged 4) Wilson:
This is our 2nd visit to Mull. We picked this accommodation because of
Arthur's hospitality on the 'Discover Mull' tour last year.It
is the best self-catering accommodation we have stayed in, large enough
to feel like a home from home. Weather
has been shocking but still made it to Port na Ba beach and Langamull -
recommended. Still lots of wildlife and Turus Mara highly recommended,
Puffins galore but guillimots and razorbills a massive highlight too! The
'Old Byre' is a good place to pass time with a 4 year old!
7th May 2011 John &
Denise Humpherson: A very enjoyable week
despite the wind and showers. Some excellent waterfalls in Aros Park! The
tour with Pam and Arthur got us off to a great start to the wildlife hereabouts
and after that we managed to find our own hen-harrier, hunting short-eared
owl and golden eagles amongst other highlights - not to forget the local
barn owls and bats. Siskins, yellow-hammers and a whinchat within a few
hundred yards. Hope to be back again in the future. Many thanks to our
hosts for their help and advice.
9th April Frank and Hazel
Harrison: We have really enjoyed our stay
in this very warm & comfortable house. The kindness shown by our hosts,
Pam & Arthur, goes over & beyond! The 'Discover Mull' trip was
excellent and we saw eagles, sea eagles, fallow deer & otters, what
a day!! - Thank you. |
Ardrioch Farmis
a cedar wood property on one level set in an informal garden with lovely
views across Loch Cuin, a sea loch, to the hills of Quinnish beyond. The
farm is a small croft where we have Hebridean and Cheviot sheep and young
20 acre deciduous woodland for our guests to enjoy in which last year we
had the very rare Large Heath Butterfly. Ardrioch is situated one mile
from the picturesque village of Dervaig, where The Bellachroy Inn serves
excellent food, there is also a very good local store and post office with
a cash machine. 4 miles away lies the beautiful scenic Calgary Bay with
its wonderful white shell sand beach a must stop for any visitors to this
magical island. At 'Calgary Art in Nature' there is a restaurant for lunches
and Art Gallery as well as a lovely woodland walk. ‘Am Birlinn’ restaurant
is just 1 mile away on the Calgary road using mainly locally soured products
and at Croig and Langamull there are lovely walks and beaches. The Killoren
Hotel, just a few hundred yards up the road, also do excellent out-side
meals.
Tobermory 9 miles away, is
the main town on the island and has a colourful main street and large scenic
harbour. Around the main car park is a new visitors centre, a whisky distillery
and a garage with petrol pumps. Tobermory also has a good co-op supermarket,
a deli to die for, an excellent book shop, an arts centre and a super chocolate
shop. There are several restaurants, 3 pubs and a great fish and chip van
in the town so you won't starve whatever your food preferences. |
