Your hosts Pam & Arthur,                                                       Ardrioch Farm gate

Ardrioch Farm is a cedar wood property on one level set in an informal garden with lovely views across Loch Cuin, a sea loch, to the hills of Quinnish beyond. The farm is a small croft where we have Hebridean sheep and young 20 acre deciduous woodland for our guests to enjoy in which last year we had the very rare Large Heath Butterfly. Ardrioch is situated one mile from the picturesque village of Dervaig, where there is an inn that serves excellent food, a coffee and book shop and a very good local store and post office with a cash machine. 4 miles away lies the beautiful scenic Calgary Bay with its wonderful white shell sand beach a must stop for any visitors to this magical island. At Calgary there is a hotel which does light lunches and very good evening meals. A new restaurant ‘Am Birlinn’ is being opened for next year just 1 mile away on the Calgary road hoping to use mainly locally sourced products. At Croig 2 miles away as well as lovely walks and beaches, you can also buy fresh shellfish from local fishermen Gordon Turnbull, dressed crab, scallops & lobster can be collected from his shed or delivered by arrangement.
Tobermory 9 miles away, is the main town on the island and has a colourful main street and large scenic harbour. Around the main car park is a new visitors centre, a whisky distillery and a garage with petrol pumps. Tobermory also has a good co-op supermarket, a deli to die for, an excellent book shop, an arts centre and a super chocolate shop. There are several restaurants, 3 pubs and a great fish and chip van in the town so you wont starve whatever your food preferences.
