No tour of mull can be made without mentioning its geological formation. Indeed a geological survey of Scotland in 1924 proclaimed that Mull included the most complicated igneous centre ever examined in the world at that time. We will show you the volcanoes; dykes and rocks that make Mull such a popular destination.

The Isle of Mulls fascinating geology is well preserved in volcanic formation which has been shaped by glacial erosion. Mull has some very rare rock types and well preserved volcanic formations. These attract geologists from all over the world and it is these rock structures underneath the surface that make Mull one of the most attractive islands in the Hebrides.
The islands geology gives Mull its varied and beautiful scenery and habitats for the wide variety of wildlife that make their home here.
